Westminster Village has a tradition of offering an exceptional quality of life for our residents while always looking for new ways to raise the bar even higher. Our health center expansion is the result of input from health care professionals, staff and residents, as well as studies of the latest lifestyle trends. The $10 million, 25,000 square-foot expansion of the Health Center will include construction of a new skilled nursing wing as well as refurbishment of the existing skilled nursing areas. The addition will include 21 new private rooms with private baths, bistro dining, and a new rehabilitation therapy area. Also, 17 semi-private rooms in the current skilled nursing area will be converted into private rooms. This expansion will enhance health care residents’ lives by creating more privacy and personal space while emphasizing wellness. The new private skilled nursing rooms will be large, well-equipped and furnished with larger-than-twin-size beds. Medications will be stored in locked cabinets in each room, eliminating the need for rolling medication carts. Common areas will be easily accessible and home-like. The new bistro dining means a resident can have a sandwich at 9 p.m. with a family member, or order a specific meal. We’re creating a refreshing spa-like setting with soothing lighting and music. Staff efficiency will be first-rate, with resident care driven by the schedules of our residents. And our new state-of-the-art rehabilitation area will help residents regain their mobility faster. Overall, the goal is to achieve a climate of hospitality in a setting that feels like home. This addition will enhance our health care services and strengthen Westminster Village’s role as a benchmark for extraordinary senior living in West Lafayette.
